NSDC Holds First Meeting in Renewed Composition and Addresses Economic Security Issues

The first meeting of the renewed composition of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council was chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It focused on economic security issues: support for Ukrainian businesses, scale-up of investment in Ukraine, and implementation of joint projects with international partners.

"The task is very concrete – to channel more of Ukraine’s internal efforts toward development and economic growth, and consequently toward expanding production and creating jobs that can support our defense and Ukraine’s resilience," the Head of State stressed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for a significant scale-up of investment in Ukraine and the implementation of joint projects with partners – particularly those involving the localization of production in Ukraine.

At the meeting, the NSDC adopted a decision to introduce a genuine moratorium on inspections of businesses by state authorities and, more broadly, on any interference by government bodies in entrepreneurial activity. The moratorium provides the necessary foundation for fully implementing key decisions on economic security and analyzing relevant practices.

"Everything intended to support Ukrainian business and Ukraine's cooperation with partners must be implemented swiftly and without exception. We need tangible economic results within the next six months," the President concluded.
