President of Ukraine

Speeches

Today, I held a meeting with our diplomatic team – the Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are preparing certain steps to further mobilize our partners.

Putin is determined only to present a meeting with America as his personal victory and then continue acting exactly as before, applying the same pressure on Ukraine as before.

I greatly value the determination with which President Trump is committed to bringing an end to the killings in this war. Every day, many people are giving their lives. But the sole root cause of these killings is Putin's desire to wage war and manipulate everyone he comes into contact with.

We must end the war with a dignified peace based on a clear and reliable security architecture. Our partners are ready to help us with this.

The Ukrainian people deserve peace. But all partners must understand what a dignified peace is. This war must be brought to an end – and Russia must end it.

We are continuing our active negotiations with partners to reach a common position for a reliable peace for Ukraine. A truly genuine peace. And if everyone perceives the opportunities and threats in the same way, then it will be possible to achieve a truly lasting peace.

Every decision that will be made to end this war and guarantee security truly concerns all of Europe, not just one country. That's why Europe's voice must carry weight in the processes. And we are coordinating with our European leaders both regarding our conversations and our meetings to align all positions.

I spoke with President Trump. This conversation happened after President Trump's representative, Steve Witkoff, visited Moscow. Our joint position with our partners is absolutely clear and transparent – the war must end. And it must be done honestly.

It is extremely important that Moscow is beginning to feel the pressure of the world, the pressure from the United States, the threat of tougher sanctions for continuing the war. And one of the key sanctions tracks is indeed Russian oil.

This includes special conditions for businesses in frontline and border areas – to preserve jobs and sustain our Ukrainian production.
