President of Ukraine

Enough of quarrels and discord. Enough of manipulations and political games. Let's not divide Ukrainians and divide ourselves. Into the government or the opposition, left or right, red or blue. We need to stop being politicians. It's time to become statesmen. People who have not a big appetite, but a big dream. About a united, strong and invincible Ukraine.

What does it mean to me to cherish Ukraine? The answer is simple - to protect every Ukrainian. And it is the constitutional rights of a citizen that are a clue about how to do it. We must learn to respect each other's rights. Respect the law, not compete in cleverness as to how to circumvent it.

Today I had a meeting with the government and other authorized bodies regarding the flood in the west of Ukraine. The Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior, and the Head of the State Emergency Service have been there since morning. We are doing everything possible to minimize and overcome the consequences of this natural disaster.

I hope you are fine, your parents are not sick, your children and grandchildren are healthy. Today it largely depends on your consciousness and discipline. We are able to contain the situation due to timely actions and your support. Let's continue this.

Dear citizens! We defeated Nazism 75 years ago. It took another 46 years for us to gain an independent Ukrainian state. And today, for the sixth year in a row, we are defending it. These are all pages of our history that unite and make us stronger.

Today, on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, we pay tribute to all those who defended the world from Nazism. Who defended the native Ukrainian land and was killed during the Second World War. We pay tribute to the feat of the Ukrainian people and their contribution to the victory of the Anti-Hitler Coalition. On the night of May 8-9, we will meet the first minute of peace - the moment of the fall and capitulation of the Nazi regime.

Every day the number of people recovering from coronavirus is steadily growing. This is a positive trend that gives optimism. At the same time, if we want to preserve all this, we must not relax, we must exit quarantine in a disciplined manner and in accordance with a step-by-step plan.

Quarantine mitigation cannot be premature. It will be phased and the first mitigation will take place on May 11. Parks, beauty salons, summer terraces of cafes and restaurants will be opened.

Dear citizens! We have a lot of hard work ahead - to build Ukraine we want to pass on to our children. Work, business and the economy as a whole - we will restore all this and bring it to the highest level, but under the only condition: we must be healthy.

Our priorities remain unchanged - to provide the country with everything needed, to protect and support Ukrainian doctors, to help citizens and businesses who found themselves in a difficult situation. The Ministry of Health has already received about half a million Ukrainian PCR tests. Today, almost 200,000 more such tests will be shipped. In quality and accuracy, they meet the world standards. Detecting the virus in a timely manner is very important in the fight against COVID-19. That is why we are increasing the capacity of our laboratories.
