President of Ukraine

Speeches

We must create in Russia a will to negotiate. And I’m ready to meet in any meaningful format, and the current line of contact could be the starting point of negotiations, real negotiations.

A meeting with leaders in London has already taken place – this is the third positive development for Ukraine in just a few days. More sanctions against Russia are coming – and they will be aligned with the decision of the United States.

Please be flexible with our air defense needs – in a time of war, saving lives must be the top priority. And support with air defense must truly be a common European effort – when everyone in Europe helps one, all of Europe wins.

Today, we are opening an entirely new and truly meaningful chapter in our relations between Ukraine and Sweden. And more broadly, this also concerns overall security relations in Europe.

We held a meeting with the President of the United States, and we agreed to try to organize the dialogue exactly like that – along the current front line.

This is not an easy task, but it is one of the security guarantees for Ukraine – and it will work in the long term.

We will grant the aggressor no gifts and forget nothing. We clearly see: this Russia is a long-term threat.

We have also already prepared our part of the homework ahead of the meeting with President Trump – both the military component and the economic one. Every detail, everything is ready. The agenda of our meeting with the President of the United States is very substantive.

Odesa deserves greater protection and greater support. This can be done in the format of a military administration – too many security issues in Odesa have remained without an adequate response for far too long.

I urge you to advocate in your parliaments and governments for stronger air defenses and the missiles we need. And the decisions are needed in the coming weeks – on both systems and missiles. Russia must learn it cannot terrorize any country with impunity.
