President of Ukraine

Speeches

We must make Russia accept that there are rules in the world – and that it cannot deceive everyone. This is the path to lasting peace.

We are working towards joint defense production as well, including modern drones, in Ukraine and in the Netherlands. Ukraine is defending its independence, defending the lives of its people, and therefore, every step of support now carries special significance.

Europe has a very, very long history of wars, and it cannot afford to treat this lightly. All pressure on Russia must remain in place as long as occupation of our land continues. Russia must feel that it is a criminal.

We greatly value the bilateral agenda in our relations with Germany as well. We have just been together with the Chancellor at an economic forum – the Ukrainian–German business forum. Cooperation between our companies, as well as our joint projects – those of Ukraine and Germany – is what truly helps us.

Thank you! If Germany had been indifferent, Europe would not have been able to stand up to this evil that Russia has brought to our land. And it is a historic result that you chose the side of normal life, the side of Europe, the side of democracy, and that you are helping to defend against Russia’s aggression – an imperialist aggression, absolutely unjust.

We are currently preparing for meetings with the U.S. side and our European friends in the coming days. Berlin will host many events.

Today, I am in the Kupyansk sector, with our warriors who are getting the job done for Ukraine here. The Russians kept going on about Kupyansk – the reality speaks for itself. I visited our troops and congratulated them. I thank each of the units, everyone who is fighting here, everyone who is destroying the occupier.

Of course, a working model of security guarantees is impossible – and we underlined it – impossible without Europe and all members of our Coalition of the Willing – from Canada to Japan to Australia and New Zealand – thank you all. Everyone’s contribution matters.

We spoke with the American team on economic matters – on reconstruction matters. I want to thank Secretary Bessent, Jared Kushner, and Larry Fink of BlackRock for being fully constructive.

First and foremost, security issues, support for our resilience, and support packages for our defense. First and foremost, air defense and long-term funding for Ukraine. Of course, we will discuss a shared vision and common positions in the negotiations.
