Dear Ukrainians!
Today, it has been clearly established that U.S. envoys will be in Ukraine and Russia in the coming days. We have the details from the U.S. President’s team. We discussed today that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will visit Moscow and then Kyiv on Sunday. We are preparing for the visit. There was a meeting with our broad diplomatic team – specifically, those who work with the United States. And just as we did during previous diplomatic visits by the American side, we will ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace so that the negotiators can arrive safely. We are looking out for them, not for Russia. There will be no air strikes from our side, and Russia must do the same, ensuring there are no air strikes from its side for the time needed to hold these talks and handle the logistical matters related to this American visit. Our goal is to make the visit and the talks with the U.S. side as constructive and substantive as possible. We need to look for real options for how to move this war toward an end. We will see what proposals Steve and Jared bring and what they are told in Moscow in response.
Second. I want to thank our partners in the Middle East and North Africa today for their close attention to food security issues caused by Russian strikes on our ports. Food shipments by sea must be safe – because this is a matter of social stability for dozens of countries around the world. We are working with those who can influence the situation and offer real diplomatic options to prevent a food crisis, a cost-of-living crisis, and therefore social upheaval. We are preparing decisions on this, and I am grateful to the President of Egypt in particular for his constructive engagement. I received a briefing from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today – we discussed all the details. We also spoke with Türkiye, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia about export corridors and food security. Thank you to everyone who can provide real solutions and give real substance to our joint steps.
And one more thing. I approved the proposals from the Security Service of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for responses to the strikes the Russians are carrying out against our cities. Today, unfortunately, there was a strike on Kyiv. Twelve people have been injured already. There have been strikes all day long in the Kyiv region, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Odesa, and cities in the Dnipro and Donetsk regions. Our warriors will find a way to respond to Russia for all of this, and we will choose the right time to respond. I thank everyone who defends Ukraine and our people. I thank everyone who ensures that Russia receives fitting responses to its absolutely insane war.
Glory to Ukraine!
