At the command post of the 3rd Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, met with the unit’s warriors and heard a briefing from the commander.
Brigade Commander Colonel Anatolii Kulykivskyi reported on the situation in the defensive sector near Kostiantynivka and on the nature of enemy actions. According to him, Russian occupiers expect to capture the city by the end of April and have been tasked with entering Kostiantynivka in small groups at any cost in order to demonstrate their presence.
The Head of State also spoke with battalion and company commanders about logistics support to Kostiantynivka using combined methods, including aerial and ground unmanned transport vehicles. Additionally, discussions covered personnel reinforcement, implementation of the “18–24” programs, and provision of extra funding for drones and pickup vehicles.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the warriors for their service and honored them with state awards.
“Thank you for defending such a vital direction for Ukraine, the eastern direction. You know that it is important not only for the defense of our state on the battlefield but also geopolitically. The stronger we are in the East, the stronger we are in the negotiation process. It is very important that Ukraine’s resilience here is strong. I thank you for this!” the President emphasized.
