At the forward command post of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great in Kupyansk, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, met with warriors and congratulated the defenders on Land Forces Day.

The Head of State received a briefing from the brigade commander, Anatolii Lysetskyi, on the operational situation within the brigade’s area of responsibility, as well as on joint actions with adjacent units in support of defensive missions, including on the left bank of Kupyansk.
The discussion also covered the failed attempts by Russians to consolidate positions in this part of the city. According to the Lieutenant Colonel, the Russian command on the ground provides false information about actual control over Kupyansk – not only to the Russian military-political leadership but also to the soldiers sent on blind assaults.
The President also spoke with the warriors of the units involved in the city’s defense about their ongoing tasks. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the defenders for their service and honored them with state awards.

“Congratulations on your day – Ukraine’s Land Forces Day. It is an important day. Important not only for you, but I am confident also for all your families, loved ones, and for the whole of Ukraine. I know many of you have been fighting since the very beginning of the war, and many have been on the front line without pause. I highly value your dedication to Ukraine, to our state. Without you, we would have simply lost it,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Head of State awarded warriors with the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, I and III classes, and the Orders “For Courage,” I–III classes.
