Trilateral Talks Held in Istanbul Between the Delegations of Ukraine, Türkiye, and the United States

The Ukrainian delegation – consisting of Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov – held a substantive meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is also serving as National Security Advisor to the President of the United States, Special Envoy of the President of the United States Keith Kellogg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, and Director of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın.

During the meeting, the parties discussed joint efforts to develop concrete mechanisms that can lead to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. All sides clearly emphasized that the war must end with an enduring and just peace, and that a full and unconditional ceasefire is the foundation for any further decisions.

Humanitarian issues were also discussed, particularly the release of Ukrainian prisoners and the return of children – a top priority for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia once again demonstrated its lack of interest in peace. This is evidenced by its absence from the negotiations at an appropriate level of representation, its disregard for international initiatives, and its refusal to end the aggression.
