The interlocutors coordinated their positions on the eve of the Vilnius NATO summit. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the Alliance's decisive position regarding Ukraine's future membership.
The Head of State thanked the Prime Minister of Portugal for his positive assessment of our country's implementation of the European Commission recommendations.
The parties expressed hope for the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU by the end of the current year.
Zelenskyy separately thanked the head of the Portuguese government for his readiness to participate concretely in the implementation of three points of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular, related to food and energy security, and ecocide.
During the phone call, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Portugal approved a Joint Declaration.
