Ukraine And Denmark Expand Joint Production Of Three Types Of Drones And Will Continue Developing The Danish Model

In Kyiv, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen.

Also present at the meeting was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade of the Faroe Islands — part of the Kingdom of Denmark — Sirið Simona Stenberg, who is visiting Ukraine for the first time.

“I want to thank the Government of Denmark for organizing the recent visit to your country. We are very grateful for our bilateral cooperation and the support coming from Denmark, primarily military support,” the Head of State noted.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Denmark has provided EUR 9 billion in defense assistance. Of that, EUR 1.8 billion is allocated for this year.

Key topics of the meeting included Ukraine’s military needs, strengthening air defense, countering Russian missile threats — including ballistic missiles — and developing joint arms production. The primary focus was on the joint manufacture of three types of UAVs: drones used on the frontline, interceptor drones, and long-range drones.

The parties also discussed the further development of the Danish model, including increased investment and the launching of Ukrainian defense production in Denmark. The Danish delegation assured full support for Ukraine and readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Special attention during the meeting was given to energy security and preparations for the winter. The President noted that solutions must already be sought now to help people get through the upcoming winter.

In addition, they discussed further humanitarian support: assistance with building shelters in hospitals, schools, and higher education institutions.
