President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees enacting decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to synchronize sanctions with the United Kingdom and to renew sanctions that were nearing expiration.
The first decree concerns the renewal of sanctions against former oligarch Dmytro Firtash and the imposition of sanctions against individuals from his close circle, as well as a company under his control.
The second decree concerns the renewal of sanctions against one of the closest associates of former oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk – namely, Taras Kozak – as well as against eight companies linked to him that are engaged in pro-Russian propaganda. Back in January 2023, the Head of State stripped Taras Kozak of Ukrainian citizenship on the basis of materials prepared by the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
