Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov held an online meeting with representatives of Ukrainian youth organizations abroad. Around 150 youth organizations from all continents were represented.
The event also included First Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Sergiy Kyslytsya; Deputy Head of the Office of the President and Co-Chair of the Council on Youth Affairs under the President of Ukraine, Olena Kovalska; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mariana Betsa; and Member of Parliament, Co-Chair of the Council on Youth Affairs under the President of Ukraine, Oleksandr Sanchenko.
Kyrylo Budanov thanked young people for their civic position, patriotism, and for preserving and defending Ukrainian identity outside of Ukraine.
“Today, Ukraine is Europe’s shield in the fight for democratic values against terrorism and totalitarianism, confronting Russia’s imperial ambitions and those of its satellites and allies. The fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine is approaching. I believe that our key task now is to synchronize our efforts within joint activities,” said the Head of the Presidential Office.
During the meeting, preparations were discussed in detail for events supporting Ukraine that will take place worldwide on February 24.
“It is important to find those good opportunities when we can thank countries for what they do for us. Especially ordinary citizens. This is never superfluous,” noted First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Sergiy Kyslytsya.
Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress in Western Europe, Volodymyr Kogutyak, spoke about the Stand With Ukraine campaign, which will be running from February 21 to 28. One of its main goals is to secure a unified global voice in defense of Ukrainian children who have become victims of Russian aggression.
Co-Chair of the Council on Youth Affairs under the President, Oleksandr Sanchenko, presented an initiative to create a Coordination Centre for Ukrainian Youth Abroad to establish a permanent and effective dialogue. Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Olena Kovalska, invited young Ukrainians abroad to join the work of youth councils operating in Ukraine.
