Ukraine and Finland Signed Seven Documents on Defense, Transport, Satellite Communications, and Construction – Results of the Ukraine–Finland Business Forum

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo took part in the Ukraine–Finland Business Forum, during which seven documents were signed in the areas of the defense industry, unmanned systems, transport, satellite communications, and construction.

The Head of State thanked Finland for its support and emphasized that the country is a very important partner for Ukraine.

The President stressed that Ukraine and Finland must develop the Drone Deal through practical steps to produce more drones needed by both countries.

“Our capacity to produce drones here in Ukraine is several times greater than the funding we have available today. So let’s use this potential to strengthen our common security,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The Head of State called for work on joint economic projects, as every investment in Ukraine helps us remain strong.

“Let’s do this. We have the Finnish-Ukrainian Investment Facility, and this is a good example. Let’s use every opportunity we have,” the President emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy separately thanked Finland and Petteri Orpo personally for supporting Ukraine in logistics and energy.

“Everything that saves jobs, everything that makes both our countries stronger and helps both our countries grow, everything that supports our logistics and our energy sector right now – all of this really matters. And we value every project we do with you – with Finland. So let’s do more together,” the President said.

The Head of State emphasized the particular importance of Finland’s participation in the Shelter Coalition and the need to move toward implementing concrete projects in Ukraine’s regions.

“Finland has some of the strongest experience in Europe in building such shelters. We need to build more mobile shelters now, because winter is close. And it is very important that we make this work in practice,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The Prime Minister of Finland emphasized that reconstruction is an integral part of supporting Ukraine.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We are not waiting for Russia’s illegal war of aggression to end. We are here today. Together, we are strengthening resilience,” Petteri Orpo noted.

According to him, Ukraine and Finland can strengthen cooperation in various areas, including the defense-industrial complex, implementation of the Drone Deal, and critical infrastructure management.

“Ukraine has transformed its defense capabilities and developed an innovative defense-industrial complex. We have much to learn from your experience. The Drone Deal is strengthening Ukraine’s defense today and also helping Finland and our defense industry prepare for the challenges of modern warfare,” the Prime Minister of Finland emphasized.
