Ukraine and the United Kingdom Begin Practical Implementation of the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Brusylо participated in the first session of the strategic dialogue on the one-hundred-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, co-chaired by Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

The parties discussed military and financial support for Ukraine, ensuring resilience during winter, and the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. They also addressed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia and providing Ukraine with reliable security guarantees. Special attention was paid to the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and cooperation with partners of Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

In addition, the dialogue covered coordination with the United States and allies within international security formats and enhancing support for Ukraine among Global South countries.

During the session, the participants developed a joint position on foreign policy, peace initiatives, and stabilization, marking one of the key stages in preparing for the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer.

Ihor Brusylо also took part in the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, members of the UK House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, and the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Jonathan Powell, and his team.

“The United Kingdom plays a leading role in all multilateral platforms supporting Ukraine: the Coalition of the Willing, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, and the Joint Expeditionary Force. In all meetings, our British partners consistently emphasized that Ukraine’s security is the United Kingdom’s security, and Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression is a fight for the future of all Europe,” noted the Deputy Head of the Office of the President.

Additionally, Ihor Brusylо met with the team of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), which is working on analyses to increase Ukraine’s capabilities, weaken Russia’s war machine, and strengthen sanctions.
