Office of the President Hosts Meeting with Secretary General of the Community of Democracies

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Community of Democracies (CoD), Mantas Adomėnas.

The main topic of discussion was strengthening cooperation to counter Russian disinformation. Ihor Zhovkva emphasized that Russian propaganda campaigns and attempts at foreign interference pose a shared threat to Ukraine and democracies worldwide.

“We must coordinate efforts, exchange information, and jointly counter manipulations and fakes that undermine trust in democratic institutions and influence electoral processes,” he stressed.

The parties also discussed the role of the Community of Democracies as the secretariat of the Ukrainian Communications Group (UCG) – a platform uniting partner country governments to coordinate strategic communications efforts and jointly combat Russian propaganda.

Ihor Zhovkva and Mantas Adomėnas agreed to enhance cooperation, including by engaging new partners and securing technical support in the fight against disinformation.

The Community of Democracies is an intergovernmental coalition established in 2000, bringing together governments, civil society representatives, and the private sector to promote, protect, and strengthen democratic norms, institutions, and freedoms worldwide.
