President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer. This was Keir Starmer’s fourth visit to Ukraine and his final one as head of the British government.
The President thanked the Prime Minister and the people of the United Kingdom for their support for Ukraine. The Head of State noted that he and Keir Starmer had held 46 meetings and conversations.
“I want to thank you for all the assistance provided to Ukraine throughout this period. It includes thousands of defense systems – anti-aircraft missiles, air defense systems, and other weapons. Britain’s support for Ukraine during this time has exceeded £11 billion, including nearly £8 billion in military assistance. It's very tangible. And it's very helpful,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
In particular, the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement was signed. According to the Head of State, it reflects the United Kingdom’s faith in Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, and Ukrainian independence.
The President thanked Britain for its strong sanctions policy. He noted that Russia knows the United Kingdom opposes the war and is doing everything it can to help bring it to a diplomatic end.
“Ukraine has confidence in Britain, and it is important that we have received all the necessary signals that the course of supporting our defense and maintaining our genuinely strong relations with Britain will continue. Our relationship and our cooperation embody the British spirit and the strength of the British people – qualities respected around the world and because of which Britain’s voice is always heard,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues concerning the front and Ukraine’s long-range operations. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine has achieved significant success in this area and that these operations are a form of pressure on Russia aimed at ending the war and achieving a dignified peace. He added that Ukraine will continue coordinating with its British partners.
Keir Starmer noted that Ukraine now has one of the most battle-hardened, technologically advanced, and innovative military forces in the world. According to him, the United Kingdom is modernizing its armed forces and developing its drone industry based on Ukraine’s experience and expertise. He assured Ukraine of the United Kingdom’s continued support.
“I can announce that the United Kingdom will provide €300 million in support to deliver, in cooperation with Sweden, 16 new advanced aircraft to help defend Ukraine’s skies. This is further proof that the British people stand with you,” the Prime Minister said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Keir Starmer the Order of Freedom, thanked him for their work together, and wished him every success in the future.
