A Veteran Must Become a True Moral Authority in Ukrainian Society – Kyrylo Budanov

A veteran must become a true moral authority in Ukrainian society, and the state’s task is to create all the conditions for their self-realization. This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, during the 3rd Conference on Veteran Reintegration “From Service to Opportunities.”

Kyrylo Budanov emphasized that veterans have gone through serious life challenges and have gained invaluable experience of operating in difficult, high-stress situations. According to him, veterans have proven their ability to work in teams, clearly define tasks, and complete them.

“A veteran – a defender – must truly become a moral authority for the entire state. When that happens, the country will become somewhat different. This war will one day end. But that does not mean there will be no other wars. A country that does not remember its history will always repeat its mistakes. And such countries have no chance of a long, happy life. A veteran is the foundation, a veteran is a moral authority,” Kyrylo Budanov noted.

He stressed that veterans should bring order and discipline into civilian life. This kind of veteran experience can help streamline important processes, including in business operations.

“Veterans know how to take responsibility for their actions, and they are ready for it. And it is precisely in this that veterans can help,” Kyrylo Budanov said.

The Head of the Office of the President also noted that during wartime, it is essential to maintain societal unity, and every citizen must understand their role in defending Ukraine.
