Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian-language audio guides have been launched in five more European countries, while 25 new Ukrainian Bookshelves have opened around the world. First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska announced this.
In particular, the audio guides were launched at the Hof van Busleyden Museum in Belgium, the Einstein Museum in Switzerland, the Junibacken Children’s Museum in Sweden, on sightseeing cruises through the Helsinki Archipelago in Finland, and at the Mauthausen Memorial in Austria.
Since its launch, the project has grown to include 122 Ukrainian-language audio guides in 59 countries.
“Wherever Ukrainians go, they must be able to access information in their native language. And the world must become accustomed to hearing our language in its rightful place alongside others,” the First Lady emphasized.
Eight Ukrainian Bookshelves opened in Hungary, four in Greece, and one each in Norway, Poland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Chile, Egypt, Slovenia, and Slovakia. The first bookshelves were also opened in Panama and Iraq.
The project now covers 73 countries and the headquarters of the international organization UNESCO. In total, more than 390 bookshelves are in operation, holding over 100,000 books.
“Ukrainian literature, science, history, and books containing in-depth, objective information about our country must be made available in every corner of the world, wherever Ukrainians live, to support them. They must also be available so that our friends abroad can get to know us better. Mutual understanding comes only from objective knowledge and a desire to understand. We are working toward this, for Ukraine and the world,” Olena Zelenska noted.
