President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni.
The leaders focused primarily on the challenges facing Ukraine’s energy sector amid ongoing Russian attacks. Italy has the necessary expertise and energy equipment. The President noted that additional support is needed to strengthen our country’s energy resilience and enhance the protection of critical infrastructure with modern air defense systems and other means.
The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine is interested in participating in joint defense projects with European Union member states under the SAFE instrument. Relevant consultations are ongoing.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Giorgia Meloni exchanged views on the potential use of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine and defend against Russian aggression.
