President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dik Schoof. The main focus of the meeting was on strengthening air defense and joint weapons production.
“We are very grateful to you, your team, your Government, and of course, your people. You have done a lot of important things during difficult times, taken many important steps. Therefore, I thank you very much,” the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the Netherlands’ support for the PURL initiative, which is critically important for Ukraine given the ongoing Russian strikes.
Dick Schoof assured continued support for Ukraine and emphasized that the level of assistance will be maintained.
The President briefed the Prime Minister on the massive Russian strikes and the need for additional air defense missiles. The leaders also explored new ideas that could help reinforce air defense and protect the skies. The sides share a common view: it is crucial to increase coordination among partners in the face of Russia’s growing ballistic missile production.
The Head of State noted that today he visited the first Ukrainian-German joint venture producing attack drones. Ukraine is interested in establishing a similar facility in the Netherlands.
The leaders also discussed diplomatic efforts to end the war. The President provided updates on the Abu Dhabi meetings and details of the discussions between the delegations.
