President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.
The Head of State thanked Germany for its significant contribution to saving lives during Russia’s full-scale war and specifically highlighted the supply of air defense systems, which have saved thousands and thousands of people.
The key topics discussed included further military assistance, additional contributions to the PURL initiative, diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, and energy support.
The President shared that today he personally visited the first Ukrainian-German joint venture producing drones. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz discussed continuing defense cooperation and implementing other joint projects that can strengthen both Ukraine and Germany.
Special attention was given to diplomatic work aimed at achieving peace. The Head of State briefed the Chancellor on meetings between the Ukrainian, American, and Russian sides, as well as preparations for the next round of negotiations. The President also outlined the work on the documents and their main points.
In addition, the sides discussed the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and its restoration. The President thanked Germany for its support and provided an update on current needs.
