President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.
The Head of State thanked the German Chancellor for his solidarity with Ukraine and support for our people.
The leaders discussed how Russia is responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement on an energy ceasefire with new attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
“This is exactly how the Russians behave when pressure eases. It is very important that Europe continue to act on principle,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
Friedrich Merz said that Germany is working to organize a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. The President emphasized that it is equally important to work through all other formats that can strengthen Ukraine and all of Europe.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz agreed to hold a meeting of national security advisors in the E3–Ukraine format.
They also discussed support for our country’s financial resilience.
The President and the Chancellor will discuss all the issues in greater detail during their meeting this week.
