President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed securing Patriot interceptors for Ukraine during their meeting in New York.
The meeting took place after Russia launched three waves of ballistic attacks on Kyiv. The President briefed the NATO Secretary General in detail on the consequences of the attack, including the destruction and casualties it caused.
“This is the constant reality Ukraine is living with. It is impossible to counter this terror against life on your own. We have learned how to intercept cruise missiles and drones. We are now looking for solutions to counter jet-powered “shaheds,” and we already have good results. But against ballistic missiles, for now, the only effective option is Patriot interceptors, which we need practically every day,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mark Rutte discussed Ukraine’s needs for anti-ballistic defense and how to secure a winter support package.
“Thank you, Mark, for your readiness to look for solutions. This is very important for NATO member states as well, given Russia’s constant threats to go further and destroy the lives of other nations,” the President emphasized.
