President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, in Copenhagen, where the Head of State came to participate in the European Political Community Summit.
The leaders discussed Russian escalation and the September incursions into the airspace of Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia, as well as ways to respond to these threats.
Ukraine has repeatedly proposed creating a joint, integrated air defense system. The expertise of Ukrainian professionals and Ukrainian technologies could become an important part of the EU’s Drone Wall initiative. Ukrainian servicemembers are currently in Denmark to provide their Danish colleagues with the necessary assistance.
The President thanked Denmark for its decision to provide a military aid package exceeding EUR 360 million, which will primarily be directed toward investments in Ukrainian defense production under the Danish model.
The meeting also focused on the implementation of the PURL initiative. The Head of State highlighted Denmark’s contribution of EUR 90 million. The leaders also discussed Denmark's further participation in this program.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mette Frederiksen coordinated their positions and agreed on the next joint security steps.
