In New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
The leaders discussed sanctions-related work within the European Union. The Head of State emphasized that when Russia constantly demonstrates its desire to escalate the war, the response should be stronger sanctions, not the other way around.
“No name on the sanctions list is there by accident: each one represents a reason why this war started and continues to this day, and why our people are being killed every day,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President thanked Denmark for supporting this position on sanctions. Ukraine counts on all its partners in Europe to remain united and work to achieve peace.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mette Frederiksen discussed Ukraine’s financial resilience and decisions that could help cover the gap in our country’s budget.
The President briefed the Prime Minister on the situation with Russian attacks and Ukraine’s solutions for countering jet-powered “shaheds.”
Particular attention was paid to joint defense production, including the construction of new facilities. There is potential to expand cooperation, and the leaders agreed to act on it.
