President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Thorsten Frei, Federal Minister for Special Tasks and Head of the Federal Chancellery of Germany, and Martin Jäger, President of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany.
One of the key topics of discussion was strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and the swift implementation of agreements to ensure effective preparations for winter.
They also discussed potential threats to Europe from Russia and a special format of security cooperation – Drone Deals.
The parties also discussed strengthening Europe’s role in the negotiation process to achieve a dignified peace, as well as possible contacts in the E3 format (the United Kingdom, France, and Germany) and the E5 format (Poland, Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom). Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that it is important for Europeans to be more proactive and make every possible effort to bring peace closer.
Special attention was paid to Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union. The Head of State emphasized that our country counts on Germany’s support and is ready to open all six negotiating clusters. According to the President of Ukraine, this would be a strong step and an important signal for all of Ukrainian society.
The Head of State also thanked Germany for supporting the European Union’s decision to allocate a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that it is important to transfer the first tranche as soon as possible in order to begin producing drones that will help defend against Russian strikes.
