In Bucharest, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The leaders discussed security cooperation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed signing an agreement in the Drone Deal format to build a multi-layered air defense system against different types of threats. Ukraine is sending its experts to Latvia to exchange experience and provide direct assistance in protecting airspace.
They also discussed the overall security situation in the region. The Presidents of Ukraine and Latvia share a common position: the initial cause of all challenges and threats is Russia and its aggression.
Among other topics were diplomatic work and Ukraine’s European integration process. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that it is important to open all negotiation clusters as quickly as possible, and there are now favorable conditions for this. The President thanked Latvia for its consistent support in this regard.
