In Tallinn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.
The leaders discussed the outcomes of the President of Ukraine’s historic visit to Sweden at the end of May and the implementation of agreements on the supply of Gripen fighter jets. Ulf Kristersson noted that the meeting in Uppsala was a very important step in strengthening cooperation between the countries, above all in the defense sector.
Special attention was given to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, in particular finding ways to obtain air defense systems and missiles for them. Ulf Kristersson informed the President about broader contacts with partners to deepen defense cooperation.
The Head of State informed the Prime Minister about his meeting with the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany in the E3–Ukraine format and contacts with envoys of the U.S. President regarding diplomatic efforts to achieve peace.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Sweden for its consistent support for Ukraine’s European integration and emphasized that we aim to open all six negotiating clusters in June–July. Ulf Kristersson assured him of support in this regard.
