During a working visit to Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the European Council Charles Michel.
The interlocutors coordinated their positions before the sixth Eastern Partnership Summit. The President stressed the importance of defining the strategic goals of the Eastern Partnership, in particular regarding the relations between the European Union and the Associated Trio.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine's strategic goal in relations with the European Union is to gain full membership. In this regard, our country expects the EU to recognize its European perspective.
The President of Ukraine informed Charles Michel about the development of the security situation along Ukraine's borders. The leaders agreed on the need to continue working together to prevent the conflict from escalating. Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that following the European Council meeting scheduled for December 16, the EU leaders will send clear signals to the Russian Federation.
