Volodymyr Zelenskyy Held a Phone Call With Cyril Ramaphosa

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

The conversation focused on how to achieve real peace and stop the killings.

The Head of State informed Cyril Ramaphosa about his recent contacts with President of the United States Donald Trump and European leaders. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that it is now important to agree on a strong joint position, as the discussion concerns the future security architecture not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole of Europe and the world.

The President of South Africa shared details of his conversation with the Russian side. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine’s position is absolutely clear: the path to peace must begin with a ceasefire. Ukraine is ready for this, as well as for meetings at the highest level in various formats. The Head of State emphasized that from the very first seconds of this war, Ukraine has sought its end, and that Russia is the sole reason for its prolongation and the absence of peace.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Cyril Ramaphosa for supporting Ukraine and invited him to visit our country.

The leaders also agreed to hold an in-person meeting in the autumn.
