Volodymyr Zelenskyy Had a Phone Call with Alexander Stubb

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of Finland Alexander Stubb.

The leaders informed each other on their recent contacts with partners and discussed the details of yesterday’s conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the most important thing is for diplomacy aimed at peace to be well-coordinated and focused on tangible outcomes.

The Presidents of Ukraine and Finland share a common understanding that Russia is trying to buy time in order to continue its war and occupation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb also discussed the importance of pressure that would compel Russia to change its behavior. The President of Ukraine underscored that sanctions matter and expressed gratitude for their implementation.

The Head of State reaffirmed that Ukraine has no doubt the war must end at the negotiating table – where clear and realistic proposals must be put forward. He added that Ukraine is ready for any negotiation format that delivers results, and if Russia continues to make unrealistic demands and undermine progress, there must be tough consequences.

The President of Ukraine will also have other conversations with partners today.
