President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss the current situation, joint next steps, and the necessity of applying pressure on Russia.
The Head of State informed him about recent engagements with partners and preparations for continuing negotiations with the Russian side regarding a ceasefire. In particular, he outlined the formats and platforms under consideration for such a meeting.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mark Rutte also discussed sanctions that could have a real impact on Russia. They noted the adoption of the 17th EU sanctions package and the sanctions decisions introduced by the United Kingdom. It is essential that all future sanctions steps are developed within such coordinated efforts.
Special attention was given to cooperation at the NATO level and preparations for upcoming meetings. The President of Ukraine and the Secretary General of NATO agreed to remain in contact.
