President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.
The Head of State thanked the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for its support of Ukraine and noted Odile Renaud-Basso’s participation in the Chornobyl International Conference on Nuclear Safety and Recovery.
During the meeting, they discussed consolidating international assistance to restore the New Safe Confinement over the fourth power unit of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged by a Russian drone in February 2025, as well as to address the long-term consequences of the Chornobyl disaster.
Special attention was given to assistance in restoring energy infrastructure facilities. The Head of State emphasized that projects implemented by Ukraine together with the EBRD are already playing an important role in supporting our country’s energy resilience.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Odile Renaud-Basso also discussed EBRD investments in key sectors of the economy. The President informed her about the need for external financing to support the stability of the state budget and to cover essential defense and social expenditures.
The Head of State invited the President of the EBRD to take part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in Poland this summer.
