President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga.
Ajay Banga expressed condolences over the deaths of Ukrainians caused by the Russian attack the previous night.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in recent weeks, Russia has been striking Ukrainian civilian targets with hundreds of missiles and drones. The attacks are becoming increasingly brutal, which makes it vital to step up support for Ukraine.
The President acknowledged the financial assistance provided by the World Bank and cooperation with investors, which plays a crucial role in maintaining Ukraine’s economic stability.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ajay Banga discussed further World Bank support in assessing the damage inflicted on Ukraine and in reintegrating Ukrainian warriors.
Special attention was paid to the development and effective management of Ukraine’s energy sector, as well as reconstruction projects.
In addition, support from the World Bank in working with donors was discussed. The Head of State noted that he counts on increased efforts in pooling global resources in support of Ukraine.
