President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented certificates granting apartments to Heroes of Ukraine and to the families of warriors who were posthumously awarded this title.
The Head of State noted that today, August 29, is a day of special observance, remembrance, pride, and sorrow for all fallen defenders of Ukraine.
The memory of the fallen defenders from across Ukraine – those who gave their lives so that Ukraine could remain strong, independent, and sovereign – was honored with a moment of silence.
“I want to thank everyone today who, every single day, finds the strength within to defend Ukraine, our land, the heart of Ukraine, and the interests of our state. Everyone who does not give up, giving Ukraine the ability to fight, giving Ukraine the ability to live. Ukraine has already achieved far more than anyone in the world could have expected: it has withstood terrible blows, always recovering and delivering counterstrikes against the occupier. This is proof that we can achieve our ultimate goal – to guarantee a future for Ukraine,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President expressed his gratitude to Ukrainian warriors, all the families who raised such heroes, and everyone who has preserved Ukraine in battles since 2014 and continues to protect it in the most difficult time – during the full-scale war.
The Head of State presented 20 apartment certificates: 13 to the families of fallen warriors and seven to the Heroes of Ukraine personally. They are servicemembers from the Medical Forces, Land Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, Navy, Airborne Forces, Unmanned Systems Forces, and the National Guard of Ukraine. The defenders distinguished themselves in battles in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv regions, as well as during the defensive operation in the Kursk region.
