In Berlin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Ukrainian leader thanked the German President for Germany’s support for Ukraine across all possible areas, above all in protecting lives.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed joint efforts with the United States to bring peace closer. The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of Europe being part of this process and noted that talks involving the United States, NATO, Europe, and Ukraine at the team level will take place in Brussels the following day.
“We are preparing for the meeting in Abu Dhabi and working constructively. We need Russia to be just as constructive,” the Head of State noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy briefed the President on the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of Russian strikes. Since this morning alone, Russian attacks have damaged energy facilities in Kyiv and five regions: Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Cherkasy.
The leaders discussed the possibility of providing energy assistance to the Chernihiv region. This region is under the personal patronage of the German President and, unfortunately, is suffering from virtually nonstop Russian attacks.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is counting heavily on its partners’ assistance to help it get through this winter.
