President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the warriors of the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “Alpha” on the 32nd anniversary of its formation and presented them with state awards.
The Head of State emphasized that it is Alpha warriors who consistently rank first in terms of successful target engagements on the battlefield, which is highly tangible to the enemy and serves as an example for many other Ukrainian units. Statistics show that this year, “Alpha” has maintained its leading position in hitting Russian occupying forces month after month.
The President also highlighted the SSU’s long-range operations, most of which are carried out by “Alpha.” According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, these operations are not only impressive but also effective. They are precise, creative, and just.
“We are also proud of your results in mid-range sanctions against Russia on the temporarily occupied territory. What is happening to Russian logistics in the occupied territory and to their military facilities is the best way to force Russia into diplomacy and compel it to end this war sooner,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State thanked the warriors for their service and called on everyone to remember each man and woman who gave their lives defending Ukraine. Those present observed a minute of silence in honor of the fallen defenders.
The President presented state awards to 37 warriors. Among those honored were three Heroes of Ukraine, one of whom, tragically, was awarded posthumously. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also presented the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, I and II class, the Orders “For Courage,” I–III class, the Order of Princess Olga, II class, and the Medal “For Impeccable Service,” III class. In addition, the Head of State signed a decree awarding state honors to 90 “Alpha” fighters.
