Thank you very much, Mr. Prime Minister. Thank you for your visit. Thank you for all the meetings and for the important agreements.
Today, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria and I signed a security agreement between our countries. In fact, our teams have been working on this for quite a long time. I am very pleased that we now have this ten-year agreement between our states. The key points I would personally highlight are the continuation of military support from Bulgaria to Ukraine. Another important issue we discussed today is the joint production of various types of weapons, including drones, on the territory of our countries. And here I would like to thank you for what we discussed – that Bulgaria will use the SAFE instrument for such co-production. I am grateful for this. I believe it strengthens both our countries, both our nations.
Energy is also extremely important. We are working to ensure that an energy corridor becomes operational. I am grateful for today’s discussion, as well as for the productive work of our ministers – first and foremost, the ministers of energy, who have been working on this. Technically, we hope this corridor will be set up by the end of the year. For us today, this is very important. At the very least, it can serve as an alternative if there are certain blockages by some representatives of Europe – you know what I mean – regarding gas. This corridor could allow Ukraine to receive around 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. For us, these are also energy security guarantees. I am grateful for this. I am also grateful for the positive signal that Bulgaria is making contributions to the PURL initiative. The signal itself is important first of all. Second, it is an opportunity to strengthen our air defense strategy, especially ahead of the next heating season. We have gone through a difficult winter, and I am grateful for this.
We discussed various issues. Of course, our good neighborly relations and constructive cooperation – we all see this. I am grateful for the very direct, transparent, and clear support from Bulgaria for Ukraine’s future accession to the European Union. Thank you for such a consistent policy. Thank you for this visit, for all the meetings – including with our parliament and with our Prime Minister. Thank you.
You are very welcome.
