Dear our teams, and dear journalists,
Thank you for your strong support. First of all, I want to highlight your contributions to the PURL program. It’s so important. Thank you so much. Yes. But we need also other allies to help us. But we are very thankful to you personally. Thank you and to your nation. This is great support.
And just today, there was another Russian strike on one of our largest cities – Dnipro city – hitting a gas station. People were killed – my condolences to the families. Many were injured, about 30 people. And tonight, there may be another Russia’s attack. Many “shaheds” are now in Ukraine’s skies, and missiles may also be used. So we must keep our air defense supplied. So I am grateful for Norway’s readiness to help us in supporting the PURL program.
Jonas and I also discussed in detail our cooperation in the production and use of drones. And our experience is already being used in the Middle East and the Gulf. We are improving defense against “shahed” drones, and we believe this should also be done in Europe. And of course, we share, we are ready to share, and we share everything with our partners, with Norway, and with the private sector, and with all country. And today, we are starting a Drone Deal – Jonas said about it – Drone Deal with Norway. Now our teams will work out the details.
We also focused on our joint production projects that are already up and running – and we can make them stronger.
And we discussed our priorities for this year – for the cooperation – and not only in defense. Ukraine is also grateful to Norway for its steady support in the energy sector. It was very, very helpful during this most difficult winter that we had during this war. Thank you, Jonas, so much. And at a time of major geopolitical crisis due to the war with Iran, Norway plays a key stabilizing role for Europe as a strong energy supplier. It is important that our joint work on the energy continues.
Thank you again, Jonas, and thank you, Norway, for all your support and for a truly strategic partnership, which our declaration today clearly confirms.
