Closer Ties with the European Union, the Security Situation, and Bilateral Cooperation: Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with Nikol Pashinyan

In Yerevan, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The Head of State thanked Nikol Pashinyan for the invitation to the European Political Community Summit and congratulated him on the successful hosting of such a high-level event. This is the first visit by a President of Ukraine to Armenia in the past 24 years.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine welcomes Armenia’s steps toward closer ties with the European Union and is ready to support Armenia’s pro-European initiatives.

The leaders discussed the situation in the region, as well as security challenges and threats. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Nikol Pashinyan about diplomatic efforts to achieve a real peace.

They also discussed the development of economic partnership. The President proposed resuming the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and holding its next meeting in Kyiv this year.
