Address by the President to the Participants of the Plenary Session of the Ukraine–Finland Business Forum

Thank you so much!

Dear Petteri, Mr. Prime Minister,

First of all I'm so happy that you are here with your team and with business leaders of your country. And we are very thankful to your country and to the people of Finland that you stay strong with us from the very beginning till the end, till absolutely, absolutely… till victory. I'm sure that Russia can't prevail and will not prevail, because of our strong people, soldiers, our nation, and, of course, because of our partners. I'm so happy that we have such strong partners as Finland. Thank you so much. More strong words about you later during the press conference. Deal.

Dear Prime Minister,

Dear business leaders, dear journalists, our ministers, our teams,

I’m glad we are working together this way – on real issues and at absolutely every level.

Finland is a very important partner for us, and we are grateful for your support. And we believe that together we can do what needs to be done – both for our security and our economies.

First. We have a Drone Deal between our two countries. And the Drone Deal works. Let’s build on this with absolutely practical steps, so we can produce more of the drones that both Ukraine and Finland need.

Our capacity to produce drones here in Ukraine is several times greater than the funding we have available today. So let’s use this potential to strengthen our common security.

Second. Even though things are not easy now, let’s work on joint economic projects. Every investment in Ukraine today also helps us stay strong. Let’s do this. We have the Finnish-Ukrainian Investment Facility, and this is a good example. Let’s use every opportunity we have.

Third. Logistics and – of course, the priority of this winter – energy. We are grateful to the Prime Minister and Finland for the steps you have taken to support those two areas. And today we have new agreements, and let’s focus on this.

Everything that saves jobs, everything that makes both our countries stronger and helps both our countries grow, everything that supports our logistics and our energy sector right now – all of this really matters. And we value every project we do with you – with Finland. So let’s do more together.

And of course, the Shelter Coalition. We spoke just now with the Prime Minister about it. And we have a company here with us today that works on shelters. We already have real projects in several regions of our country – Chernihiv, Odesa, and others. And Finland has some of the strongest experience in Europe in building such shelters. We need to build more mobile shelters now, because winter is close. And it is very important that we make this work in practice. Thank you so much. Welcome!

Glory to Ukraine!
