President: Ukraine and Moldova agreed to finish border demarcation shortly

Ukraine and Moldova will complete demarcation of the Transnistrian area of the Ukraine-Moldova border, as stated by President Petro Poroshenko.

In the course of the press statement following the bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip, President Petro Poroshenko informed that the parties had discussed a broad agenda. In particular, they touched upon the issue of demarcation of the Transnistrian area of the Ukraine-Moldova border.

“We agreed to do everything to complete this issue shortly,” Petro Poroshenko said.

He also informed that the Ukrainian part of the joint commission on border demarcation had already been formed. “We agreed that it will start working immediately,” the Head of State noted.

According to Petro Poroshenko, the parties are planning to launch the road connection across “Bronnytsya-Unguri” bridge and build “Yampil-Cosăuți” bridge. “We must do everything to restore railway connection in “Berezyne- Basarabeasca” area,” the Head of State concluded.
