President Petro Poroshenko and Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz agreed that 2019 will be proclaimed the year of Ukrainian culture in Austria. The Head of State informed this during the joint press conference held after the meeting.
"We agreed to announce 2019 the year of Ukrainian culture in Austria. Cultural diplomacy is a very reliable and effective tool for the development of relations between our nations, between our countries,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
"Culture is the key to the hearts of Ukraine and Austria, and it will make our nations closer," the President is convinced.
The Federal Chancellor of Austria, in turn, noted a good level of contacts between the nations of the two countries. "We are very close at the interpersonal level and I am very glad that we were able to agree on a common year of culture that will make the people of Ukraine and Austria closer," he said. "Both nations will benefit from this, it will enrich them," Sebastian Kurz is convinced.
The President also noted the intensification of our political dialogue and thanked Mr. Kurz for a warm welcome during his visit to Austria, in particular during the meetings with the Federal Chancellor, Federal President, Speaker of the Austrian Parliament. "At all levels, we felt very strong support from our Austrian partners," Petro Poroshenko noted.
