President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko visited Vinnytsia HUB "City of Meanings" where they spoke with talented youth - winners of international contests on computer graphics and web design, students of Vinnytsia National Technical University.
In particular, the youth were interested what professions, according to the President, will be demanded by employers in 5-10 years. "I am confident that the development of the IT industry will be a priority not only because it is a global trend in the world, but also because we will unite to create absolutely attractive conditions for supporting the functioning of the IT business," the Head of State answered.
According to Petro Poroshenko, we should not lose the developments of the Ukrainian technical school, including the Vinnytsia University. "Demand at the IT service market is growing every year by 30%-50%," the President said.
The Head of State added that the IT sphere is interesting. "I also try to keep myself in shape and follow it very closely," the President said.
In addition, the IT sphere is of great practical use by the military. The Head of State noted that he had visited yesterday the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense: "The path the intelligence has passed over the last 4 years is incredible. The amount of information that we now receive from satellites, the picture we present in real time today does not only increase the effectiveness of our troops, but also saves lives of Ukrainian soldiers," the President said. He emphasized that this became possible due to the specialists in communications, satellite technologies, etc.
"This means that a very powerful school has already been created in Ukraine, which allows us to defend our native land on an equal footing. And this is another contribution of a sphere which is seemingly very far from the military service that works for Ukraine," the Head of State said. The President added that this is another confirmation that the traditional scientific centers need state and local support in this direction.
The Head of State also noted the importance of high technologies in the public sector. "Electronic government is the fight against corruption. E-government is accelerating the efficiency of the state machine," he said, reminding of the launch of electronic declarations, ProZorro public procurement system, etc.
"The IT sphere has no boundaries. And you can work in any company in the world. And we just have to create conditions for these opportunities of globalization of the IT sector to be competitive," the Head of State stressed.
