President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a task to develop a plan of measures by the end of this year to increase Ukraine's position in the Doing Business ranking, as well as to start preparations for large-scale privatization and introduction of the land market.

55% of alcohol production in Ukraine is in the shadow today, and state-owned distilleries have been controlled by criminal groups for over 10 years, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a meeting on the development of the Ukrainian alcohol industry during a working trip to the Ternopil region. Currently, only four of the eleven distilleries operate in the region.

During a working trip to the Ternopil region, the Head of State introduced the newly appointed RSA Head to the staff and presented him a certificate.

In Ternopil, the Head of State will participate in a meeting on the development of the alcohol sector of Ukraine and present the newly appointed Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration.

“You have always been a driver of change in independent Ukraine, from the Revolution on Granite that became the basis for the birth of independence to the Revolution of Dignity. That is why it is vital for the state that you see your future in Ukraine,” the President said, addressing the students of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

“We will also continue to jointly strengthen security and stability in the Black Sea region. We will increase information exchange, develop communication lines, intensify joint training events,” the Head of State said during a meeting with the media following the session of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Kyiv.

“Today we have agreed on an updated, consolidated package of projects and practical measures. We have discussed the prospects of our cooperation under the NATO Enhanced Opportunities Program. I have proved today that Ukraine is ready to move to this new level of partnership with the Alliance,” the President said during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg following the session of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Kyiv.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that the third and last condition for holding a meeting in the Normandy format at the highest level was the disengagement of forces in Petrivske. It is scheduled for November 4 subject to a week-long ceasefire regime in this area.

"We are willing to cooperate more closely with the Alliance and accelerate preparations for NATO membership. Keeping the possibility of Ukraine joining the NATO Membership Action Plan on the agenda, we are ready to prove by practical work today that Ukraine deserves such format of relations with the Alliance. We hope that our progress in the implementation of NATO principles, norms and standards, as well as the new format of our engagement with the Alliance, will be recognized in further political decisions of the Allies,” the President said during a meeting with the media following the session of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Kyiv.
