President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commissioned the Cabinet of Ministers to carry out a detailed communication with the public as soon as possible regarding quarantine restrictions imposed for the period from January 8 to 24. The President said this at a traditional meeting on the prevention of COVID-19, which was attended by government officials, law enforcement officials and members of the National Security and Defense Council.

On January 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will hold negotiations in Kyiv with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, who will pay an official visit to Ukraine.

Prior to the introduction of nationwide enhanced quarantine in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a scheduled conference call with the participation of government officials and heads of law enforcement agencies. The participants of the event discussed what steps the government will take, what restrictions and when will be in force in the country.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is satisfied with how quickly and efficiently the government managed to pay partial compensation for losses caused by quarantine restrictions due to the spread of COVID-19.

Four Ukrainian citizens - members of the crew of the tanker Captain Khayyam, which was detained in the territorial waters of Libya on February 13, 2016, return to Ukraine. Sailors Yevhen Morar, Volodymyr Tostohan, Oleh Voynerovsky and Pavlo Chaika are already on their way home. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the release of Ukrainian citizens and noted that they would finally be able to celebrate Christmas with their relatives and friends. The Head of State also thanked Ukrainian diplomats, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies for their work, which made it possible for Ukrainians to return home.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree № 1/2021 "On the provision of humanitarian aid to the Republic of Croatia".

In recent weeks, the number of patients with COVID-19 has been decreasing in Ukraine and the number of those recovered has been increasing. This was announced to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a traditional conference call held under his chairmanship.

The gas market for the population has been launched in Ukraine since August this year, and now citizens are free to choose the gas supplier with the most favorable conditions. State-owned companies, in particular Naftogaz of Ukraine, can help the population save on gas bills. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a working trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

During a trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the state is working to obtain vaccines against COVID-19. He reminded that Ukraine already has an agreement on free 8 million doses of vaccine within the COVAX program, but the authorities are trying to increase this number.
