On the Day of Unity, January 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in a ceremony honoring the memory of President of the Ukrainian People’s Republic Mykhailo Hrushevsky.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a letter from President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen following the 22nd Ukraine-EU Summit, which took place on October 6, 2020 in Brussels.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the priority issues on the agenda of the Ukrainian authorities in 2021 and discussed a roadmap for their solution. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov, MPs and chairmen of parliamentary committees, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, his deputies and advisers.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal as regards the need to comply with Ukraine’s international obligations when amending the legislation in the field of public procurement.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the ceremony of honoring the memory of servicemen of the Armed Forces who perished that day in the battles for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde.

The Cabinet of Ministers compared quarantine restrictions in Ukraine with those of 18 European countries, and Ukrainian quarantine turned out to be the mildest. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the traditional conference call on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commends the government's adoption of a resolution to reduce gas tariffs for the population. The Head of State is convinced that utility tariffs should be socially fair, and the gas market should operate according to the standards of transparent trade and fair competition.

The leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine and Germany related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the supply of vaccine against this infection.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state congratulated each other on Christmas and New Year. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa for a warm New Year's video greeting for Ukraine.
