On the Day of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the 169th training center “Desna” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the opening of the restored St. Andrew's Church. Today the monument is officially opened, and from Tuesday, December 15, the church will open its doors to visitors. Worship services will be held here every Sunday and on holidays, and on other days the church will work as a museum.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that the most tangible results in promoting peace in Donbas can be achieved in direct negotiations between the leaders of the Normandy format member states. "The path to peace is always thorny. But this is the path that both parties must take. Ukraine's activity in the process of negotiations has shown the whole world and, most importantly, the people of Donbas that we are interested in peace, and Russia is blocking the implementation of agreements," the President said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy praises the return to the homeland of Ukrainian citizens Yevhen Fomenkov and Oleksandr Sanpiter who have been captured and detained in Iraq since July 2017. The return of Ukrainians was made possible by the joint and consistent work of the Office of the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies. The Head of State personally coordinated the process of releasing our citizens.

The issue of providing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine to overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic was the subject of special attention of the Head of State during his telephone contacts over the year with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and talks with EU leaders within the 22nd Ukraine-EU Summit on October 6, 2020.

The two heads of state discussed the situation with the spread and prevention of COVID-19, shared information on the impact of quarantine measures on the economy and the epidemic situation in Ukraine and Lithuania.
