Poroshenko and Stoltenberg agreed to urgently convene an emergency meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Petro Poroshenko informed about the brutal act of Russian aggression against Ukraine in the Azov-Black Sea area and the actions of Ukraine in response, including the introduction of the martial law regime.

The Head of State called for the increased international pressure on Russia for the immediate release of Ukrainian sailors and ships.

The NATO Secretary General expressed support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and called on Russia to adhere to the norms of international law and freedom of navigation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Poroshenko and Stoltenberg agreed to urgently convene an emergency meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission due to the aggression of Russia.

The parties discussed threats to regional security as a result of Russia’s unpredictable actions.

During the conversation, it was agreed to continue contacts at the highest level.
